I did it!
As i started this blog to talk about my efforts over November in pursuit of the NaNoWriMo goal of a 50,000 word novel by November, it seems apt to update on my progress. The actual writing of the great white whale, plus the inconvenient intrusions of the Thanksgiving holiday as well as various misadventures with heating issues have meant i haven’t had time to keep up this blog as much as i would have liked.
However, on Day 28 of 30, I have crossed the milestone that is 50,000 words, which makes me an official NaNo Winner for 2012! that mean I’m 2 for 2. Of course, the story is far from finished, but revision can happen at a more sedate pace now, as I won’t be watching the following graph like a hawk:
It’s been a struggle sometimes, but for the most part it’s been an absolute blast. I was able to participate in far more communal write ins and meet my fellow insane authors. Indeed, my two biggest days came as a result of write ins. sometimes a change of scenery and a group of like minded crazies really can get you through anything. If I met you in a Starbucks, a Panera, or a Barnes & Noble, or saw you on Facebook, Twitter or the nanowrimo.org forums, i want to thank you. Just your presence was sufficient encouragement that got me past that 50,000 word plateau.
So to every one of my fellow Richmond WriMos: Thank you, and I hope we can do it all over again in 2013!
